Daylight Savings Time affects us all.  Over the last few weeks, there have been a few concerns about the Daylight Savings Time change.  Computers have the wrong date, several pieces of hardware are malfunctioning, and several cell phones did not update.  The following are steps to make sure you are up to date.

Many computers have Windows XP.  To get the update in Windows necessary for the new daylight savings time, you need to have service pack 2 as well as all other updates since then.  The best way to accomplish this is to just enable automatic updates in the control panel.  Aside from that, you can go to Microsoft's web site: Click Here.  For that matter, if you have Microsoft Outlook or any other calendar program, you need to update that as well.  Go to the manufacturer's web site for instructions.

If you have a PDA or smart phone, you will have to take a few extra steps in order to update your daylight savings time.  If you have a Windows PDA or smart phone, you need to go to the following web site and follow all instructions: Click Here

If you have a Palm PDA, you will have to go to the following site and follow all instructions: Click Here

Hardware such as internet clocks, DVRs, and game consoles can be updated via the internet most of the time.  Some other hardware such as master clock systems need a chip replacement.  If you are not sure, contact the manufacturer of the device in question or go to their website, or you can contact us at 248-489-9706 for any questions or help you may need.
