What web browser should I use? A Web browser does exactly what is is named. It browses the web, or more accurately, the internet. But what are the differences between web browsers and why should you use one over another? Microsoft Internet Explorer and Mozilla Firefox are the two main contenders. There are several others, but we will focus on what makes these two definitive.
Mozilla Firefox 2.0. For the people that have use it, you already know what it can do. For the people that don't use it, there are several reasons why you may want to consider this browser. First of all, the claims that it is more secure than internet explorer are anything but true. Firefox have just as many fixes, bugs, and issues as internet explorer does. The reason it is better in this area is how it handles them. Firefox is patched the second a flaw is found. It also does it without any user input. Firefox views web sites with a different rendering engine, so some websites may not look like they do in other browsers. You can also customize Firefox with new buttons, and different mini programs to make your surfing more enjoyable. You can get this program from Here.
Internet Explorer is installed by default on any Windows computer. Internet Explorer 7 can be installed on Windows XP with SP2 and comes on Windows Vista. Internet Explorer also has add-ons that you can install to make browsing nicer. As far as customizing the look, there aren't as many as Firefox. Internet Explorer 7 has proven to be more secure than 6, but still has some flaws. There are many more features to each of these browsers easily able to take up several pages for each one. But just for some insight, Firefox is a nicer experience than Internet Explorer. As far as security, they are both flawed and will continue to have fixes. Ease of use depends on what you call ease of use. Firefox is a bit more advanced and allows endless customization. Internet Explorer is familiar to people that have been using it for years. Either way, read up on both of them and make an informed decision. |
